It's a fine visit for dedicated NPS fans, but otherwise not really worth the time. The house was closed for our visit, though we didn't miss much because (1) there really isn't anything original about it and (2) you can see inside the windows into the small rooms. The grounds are a quick and easy walk, though again not really related to the 18th century. I think, if there are Pinckney fans out there, you probably already know everything from reading ahead rather than learning more on site.

We learned about his contributions to our US Constitution. The house is kit period-furnished, but there are displays about the family’s history and there role in our country’s founding. While he certainly had incorrect views, we have many core foundations in our government thanks to his beliefs on a federal government’s role. He also had the courage to go against his father during the American Revolution. Worth a stop if you are in the area.

Absolutely beautiful grounds, picnic tables available for use nice, clean bathrooms, however the house was not open. I understand that they cannot get any volunteers to oversee the visitors touring the house, nor are they able or willing to pay someone, IF they could find anyone willing to work! It is truly sad, but still a beautiful place to visit, have a picnic, take some pictures and just relax

Still a really nice, but small NHS to visit. Great place to walk. As stated, the home is closed to tours due to covid, but there are information stops all around. This is not the original house. They have left National park passport stamps at the back door of the home. Worth a stop and not crowded at all.

We learned about Charles Pinckney, a bigger deal than we expected among the Founders. But there's not much to this site--the house isn't Pinckney's original house, and it's currently closed due to COVID anyway. I appreciated that they had left a little basket of national park passport stamps on the front porch.

We left knowing nothing more about Charles Pinckney than when we came. Totally underwhelmed. This man rubbed shoulders with George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Alexander Hamilton, and the like. And very little of the presentations made were about him. He really deserves better.

Grounds are pretty but small. Hours are not great. Worst of all they didn’t bother to leave a stamp out so we can cancel our passports even though the park was “open” but the visitors center closed. I looked all over the outside and on the porches plus the sheltered picnic table. Total let down and I went 2 hours off route to get my stamp for here. Disappointed! They didn’t even leave out any pamphlets.

Great little historic site that is part of the NPS. Beautiful grounds has trails and markers that allow you to walk around what is left of the planation. Pinckney was a founding father who signed the US Constituion. A film and exhibits in the house helps one to learn more about him and his contributions to South carolina and United States history. The 1828 house was built after he passed. Still, quite stunning inside. Ranger on duty was very nice. Picnic tables and shelter on the proprty. Very clean restrooms. This is a wonderful place to visit.

This is an out of the way shrine to a largely forgotten patriot, but
one who played an important roll in the founding of our country, and an especially prominent "local". The exhibits are interesting and thorough without being overwhelming.

Worth a half-an-hour, or so.

This is a terrific, free, stop if you're in the area. Who knew that Charles Pinckney was so influential in shaping the U.S. Constitution. As at other excellent Visitor Centers, there is a short film to view, preferably, before you walk through the house.

Pick up a "Trail Guide" and walk the grounds......beautiful and well maintained.
