Went to see the Nigh Of 10000 Candles during our stay in Surfside Beach. Truly a unforgettable experience!! The displays of candle and Christmas lights are out of this world. The attention to detail is exceptional! Love the way the trees, fountains and statues were highlighted. The live entertainment was very good and appropriate for the season, really got you... More

I actually convinced my non art loving husband to go to Brookgreen and even he liked it! Unlike a museum, the sculptures are set in beautiful gardens which anchor and enhance their beauty! The ancient trees are amazing in their own right. After enjoying the sculptures and gardens, go visit the animals. This is the one weak point of the... More

We had visited the Brookgreen Gardens in the summer and found the flowers and sculptures to be beautiful. This Christmas we went to see the Night of a 1,000 Lights. This is must see if you are in the area. It gets dark around 5:30 pm and you are transferred into a fairy tale land with lights hanging from the... More

We visited this garden in early October. Actually, it was the one attraction we knew of in the Pawley's Island area. If the weather's bad it would leave only the indoor displays, of which there are several, but the outdoor walks through the gardens, the boat ride and the Trekker tour really help complete the picture of what was once... On the recommendation of a friend, my adult daughter and I went to Night of a Thousand Candles (2nd weekend after it opened, Friday evening). On the recommendation of the concierge at the hotel where we were staying (Hampton Inn Murrell's Inlet...great place), we went shortly after it opened which I'd also recommend. We got into the Gardens without having... More

Visited to see the light show in the gardens. The sculpture garden is a delight in any season. With the light show added, the place is simply breathlessly beautiful. My husband and I will return in the spring to spend an entire day wandering through the gardens. Make sure to wear your walking shoes although there are strollers available for... More

This was our second trip to the gardens and it was even better than the first. We came for the "Night Of A Thousand Candles". This is a fantastic display the gardens lit up with real candles and a million lights. This is a highly recommended trip if you can make it during the holidays. Get there early and stay... More

This year was my 3rd time to BGG to visit the holiday light display. The crowds and the line of vehicles waiting to get into the park have grown tremendously since I first visited. The light display has grown as well! I was very impressed with the amount of work it must've taken to hang the long strands of lights... More

So much to see you can't do it all in one day. I love the duck exhibit. Things the who family can enjoy. I also love the boat ride. The man is very knowledgeable about the history and property.

No matter what the season, Brookgreen Gardens will give you a sense of peace and tranquility. Spring time shows new beginnings, Summer is at full bloom. Then fall foliage enhances the sculptures and it all culminates with the spectacular Night of a Thousand Candles at Christmas. There is something for all ages, interesting exhibits, the Zoo and even a Butterfly... More
