We stopped here during our stay in Myrtle Beach. Our family wanted to try the salt marsh seining that was offered for an hour on a Tuesday morning (check their weekly activity/program schedule for more options). It was an interesting activity for the family. Our...More

Beautiful powder sand beach away from the hustle and bustle. We didn't get the chance to see castle atalaya but it looked pretty neat. No lifeguards on duty when we went. Facilities are nice but bathrooms were pretty dirty. Admission is $5 per adult and...More

This is a great beach. Why not 5 stars? This is the first pubic beach I've been to where they slow dogs on the beach and in the water while people are swimming. I love dogs but I think everyone understands why that's a bad...More

We got a free park pass staying at Ellington at Wachesaw. The beach was really quite quiet compared to a little further north, which is nice. Not a lot of shells (if you're a shell hunter), but we did find a live starfish in one...More

If you want to find a nice unspoiled beach then come here. Fine white sand, warm water, shallow ... ideal for the smaller ones. Plenty of parking, changing rooms and showers are available too.

Went to the beach and the sand was whiter and better than some of the other beaches in Murrels! It almost felt like a private beach since there were not a lot of people were there when we went. It was great to sit in...More

Which is the best picnic shelter to reserve close to the ocean but not a long walking distance from the parking area? Looking at a small wedding in September and need a location for older guest to sit for a short ceremony in the sand prior to the event.

There are nice covered picnic tables near the boardwalk that leads to the beach from the parking lot. Not a long walk!!

What is the temp like in mid-april? Is it warm enough for the kids to enjoy swimming? Would they burn by the sun at that time of year?
