very nice state park with good amenities and a nice clean beach. We were there in August and the crowds were light, plenty of beach to set up on. The alligator pond is always fun to walk around with plenty of other native wildlife to...More

We had to get up super early to come here so it was still cool enough for the alligators to be at the surface, but it was so worth it! I couldn't believe I was seeing real alligators up close without a piece of glass...More

My husband and I visited the park and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Although it was a cool and windy day, we came prepared. Wearing a light jacket allowed us to savor a picnic lunch and then a wonderful 1.5 mile walk along the beach. The grounds...More

I have always loved this park, growing up in Murrells Inlet, this was the place we always went every summer, all summer! The beaches are spotless, even if it is a little crowded in the summertime. It's a terrific place to take your kids, so...More

This is a very popular park any time of the year as we found out. We went camping in January and I believe the campground over half full. As a matter of fact, they take reservations 13 month in advance. We were told that they...More

Loved this park, including the old Huntington residence despite its condition. Lots of history here. Heard comments about how awful it is, but you have to use some imagination and not set expectations based on the Biltmore (which is what we were hearing). They created...More

Nice place, camping available, lots of BEACH, clean changing area close to the beach, not usually too crowded: must pay to enter, or have a SC park pass

Stopped in for a hike around the park. Very low-key, at least in January. Has a small gift shop, signage for trails could be better, but finally found the Sandpiper trail, ~ 2 mis. Nice day and hike around Sandpiper Pond. Would come back again

No camping on the beach but the sites are under a 1/2 mile to the ocean. Enjoy.

According to the park rangers they are separate from the guests in the marshland. We were worried about that too but never seen one on the beach. The beach is like a mile from the marshland separated by a strip of land. I... More
