Lovely beach, warm water and not as crowded as further north beaches. Ranger station with snacks available and several outside showers to wash off before going home. Camping available also.

This place has at least three different features. First you have the Golden Strand beach where you can enjoy the beach or just stroll forever. Second, you can tour Atalaya, the winter home of the Huntingtons (one of the carpetbaggers from the North who donated...More

We visited my sister-in-law and her husband who were camping in the park. We walked thru the trees to come out onto the ocean beach which was beautiful. Though I am not a camper, my sister-in-laws loves this campground.

Huntington Beach State Park is our go-to place for the beach when we visit the Grand Strand. Beautiful scenery, wildlife, and clean beaches. We purchase an annual pass for $75 that pays for itself quickly, even with visiting only a few times per year. The...More

There are a lot of things to do here in addition to heading to the ocean/beach. You can sit in the "big" chair and have your picture taken and then attempt to get back out of the "big" chair. There is a boardwalk that goes...More

Just the type of beach we like. Natural and not commercialized. Can bring your coolers as well. It also had an area of you want to bring your dog. Excellent.

This is what the beach is supposed to look like, with multi layer vegetation covered dunes and forest behind it all. Great wildlife viewing opportunities and at five dollars one of the best values in the Myrtle Beach area.

I had no expectations when I went to the park, but my husband, friends, and I were delighted to learn about this interesting couple. I have a new regard for this place that I thought was merely a camping area.

Which is the best picnic shelter to reserve close to the ocean but not a long walking distance from the parking area? Looking at a small wedding in September and need a location for older guest to sit for a short ceremony in the sand prior to the event.

There are nice covered picnic tables near the boardwalk that leads to the beach from the parking lot. Not a long walk!!
What is the temp like in mid-april? Is it warm enough for the kids to enjoy swimming? Would they burn by the sun at that time of year?
