These gardens are a lovely bright spot right by town. There are several acres through which to leisurely stroll on paved paths. Strollers and wheelchairs can come along, but it is not flat ground. Several benches are placed along the path, and there are lovely viewing areas to rest of enjoy a light picnic.

On this warm day in late Feb. with all the trees starting to come back alive, I decided to get out my camera and get out and enjoy the Hatcher Gardens. Located only a few minutes from downtown, this place is wonderful place to getaway and escape. It is 10 acres of pure bliss and just gorgeous. First you should... More

We came here for a nice walk as part of one of the county's geocaching tours. It was a nice walk down to the amphitheater and there was a nice pond with a wooden overlook. I really felt like I left the city coming here. I wouldn't have known about it if it wasn't for the tour.

Hatcher's garden is an oasis from the steady traffic on John B White Sr. Blvd. This place has just kept on improving over the years, largely due to the dedication of a full time staff. A lot of work has gone into making Hatcher's a pleasant place for a peaceful stroll, picnic, or wedding. The efforts have paid off. Hatcher's... More

This beautiful urban oasis was built through the dedicated efforts of hardworking volunteers who put their hearts into designing and building a serene place of quiet beauty. The gardens are exquisitely designed to be lovely in every season. In January, camellias were blooming riotously. Never crowded, always peaceful, it's a great place to spend an hour in quiet contemplation of... More

This is a wonderful place to relax, meditate, bring children, enjoy nature or take a stroll. The path is paved and has plenty of shade if needed.

What a refreshing and wonderful outdoor sanctuary right in the middle of Spartanburg neighborhoods. The plants are well marked and maintained. Many volunteers keep the grounds clean and nice. There is a paved path throughout the park so wheelchairs and strollers can enjoy the surroundings. The park is small enough to walk through in 15 min., but so peaceful and... More

Hatcher Gardens is a very special place located in the city's west side in a residential area. I was very fortunate to meet Mr. Hatcher whilst he was still alive (20+ years ago) and loved to help garden. After he passed and it became a Park it only became more established and much more unique. This is a fantastic place... More
