Charleston Tea Plantation was a really cool Story and Tour!  The story of how Bill discovered the location back in the 60’s and has really grown it to become North America’s only Tea Plantation is quite an impressive story. The Gift Shop has a whole selection of free tastings of the teas.  All are great by the way.  The self-guided... More

The Charleston Tea Plantation has a bus tour of the tea farm, and a separate tour of the small factor used to make the tea. The shop has all sorts of hot and cold teas for free tasting and lots of tea and etc. for purchase. It's about 45 minutes by car from downtown Charleston SC. It is a nice... More

The Tea Plantation is a must do!! Great informative tour over the plantation aboard an old trolley car. Factory also provides a video of production. Who knew Charleston was home to America's only tea plantation! Loved everything. Great shop where you can taste both hot and iced teas. Great gift shop, too.

Interesting tour seeing how the tea is harvested and prepared. Great samples of iced and hot teas. This is an out of the way location but it's a nice drive through the islands. A trolley tour cost $10 per adult and lasted about 30 minutes. Through the gift shop is a quick tour of the equipment used to prepare the... More

Nestled amidst acres of flora and fauna on the island is this tea plantation. Someone had recommended that we visit and we sure are glad that we did! They have good parking, clean restrooms and a great tour! The factory tour consisted of watching 4-5 videos about the harvest and production process. Very informative and takes place next to the... Our group enjoyed the factory tour and the trip out into the fields. We learned a lot about what goes into the making of Tea. Great to see a product locally made here in the USA. Friendly staff.

My wife saw this in the travel info and said what do you think , well I think I learned something today & totally enjoyed the trip out . The only charge at the whole place was the trolley ride around the property , which is totally optional , for 10.00 per person . 35 minute trip around the farm... More

Interesting factory tour and delicious tea samples! We were looking for some free things to do and this was a great side trip. We didn't do the trolley tour, but it was still worth the trip.

We really enjoyed the visit. Sadly we came during the off season. To see the fields being harvested come April to October, but we still enjoyed our winter visit. Warning, we love learning stuff, so this was our kind of place. It is also a pretty ride to get to it.

Such a interesting plantation. Beautiful grounds. Beautiful gift shop and free "short" factory tour. You can samply unlimited hot and cold teas. The Trolley tour is $10 but $8 if you show AAA card. The Trolley drive was so engaged. A fun time. About 30 to 40 minute scenic drive from downtown Charleston.
