A great lake!

I've been here before and I always have a great time. The lake is not that deep and catching fish without a boat is easy.

This was our first visit to this campground. (but not our last) All the campsites were well maintained, the restrooms were clean. All the staff was courteous and professional. A special thanks to the campground hosts, Jimmy and Ethel, they treated everybody like family, and made our stay very nice.

This is a very large lake, and it's just beautiful. Easily accessible from Camden or Columbia, this is one of the prettiest state parks in South Carolina.

For a state park, this is probably one of the nicest in South Carolina. We stayed in site 29 and it was beautiful. Saw some snow and the power went out early Sunday morning, other than that great family park. Great for fishing or just relaxing and hiking. Clean restrooms and showers. Electric and water hookups.

We visited the State Park as our starting point to launch our boat. Lake Wateree has two decent boat ramps, a dock and gas pumps. There is ample parking for trucks and boat trailers. One of the first things that hits you is the fresh smell of pine trees. There is a camp store and clean restrooms. A picnic area... More

I almost hate to share the secret of Lake Wateree State Park. Great place for camping and fishing. Excellent staff! Park Rangers are very friendly and helpful. They have an adequately stocked store for things you forgot. Boating (power or paddle) is key to really enjoying the lake. The boat ramp is in great condition and there is plenty of... More

This park would be perfect if you have a boat. The lake was beautiful. We will definitely have to return for a camping trip and enjoy a day on the lake and some fishing. The park also had a nice playground for the kids.

What a great state park. There is an easy, short trail that offers spectacular, tranquil views of the un-commercialized lake. A short ride from Columbia, this park is a great place to have a picnic, grill out with friends, or even swim off the beach! A much better lake to visit than Lake Murray.

The lake is pretty, but if you don't have a boat, it's not of much use. The nature trail is just a stroll through the woods with a few glimpses of the water (which was very high due to flooding awhile back and heavy rains two nights ago), but really didn't have any special vistas. Still, it's a state park,... More

A beautiful setting among tall pines. RV sites are paved and most have water and electric. Lots of fishermen this time of year. Tackle Shop Serves as check in office and sells gifts and items you may have forgotten. There is a nice clear hiking trail nearby. We have seen deer here on previous campouts. The one don side is...
