Enjoyed the area so much deceided to stay an extra night. Tryied several of the towns resturants and enjoyed them all. Slot machines in all the hotels and casinos were a bit tight however.

This area, even with the more modern shops, allows you see the old west through building structure and experience. It was interesting o stand in the old train station and admire the buildings.

Too many casinos? Yes maybe, but do much else as well. Loved the authentic feel of the place as well as the coffee information that is available on the history and upcoming events.

Didn't do a commercial tour, but if you can get a local historian to tell you about the history on Main Street, it is amazing and plentiful!

We spent an afternoon in Deadwood. Had lunch at one of the many cafes and did the historic walking tour. It is a typical wild west tourist town like others we have visited like Tombstone, Dodge City and Virginia City, but it is worth taking...More

Downtown Deadwood was awesome. We we're able to get some Black Hills Gold Jewelry at a good price. We had a drink where Wild Bill Hickok was killed. I was using a cane and couldn't walk too far at a time. They have plenty of...More

This town really gets into the spirit of the old west! Wild Bill Days is held every year in June. There are open air concerts in the streets and re-enactments of historic shoot-outs. The visitor centre will provide self guided maps to all the historic...More
