Experience our award-winning wines in a fun and relaxed setting in the heart of the Black Hills. Find us three miles northwest of Hill City on Highway 385, just a few miles from Mount Rushmore National Memorial and Crazy Horse Memorial. We’re Hill City’s only working winery and Sandi Vojta, our fifth generation winemaker, handcrafts each wine, often using old family recipes, just a few steps from our Tasting Room. Start your Prairie Berry Winery experience with a free wine tasting of up to five of our award-winning wines, including our Anna Pesa handcrafted traditional European wines, at our Tasting Bars. We produce a variety of wines in styles for every palate – from crisp, dry wines and robust, oak-aged reds to sweet, fruity varieties. Our Kitchen offers housemade menu items including gluten-free, vegetarian and kids’ options. Menu selections pair perfectly with our wines, vary with the season and many of our ingredients are sourced locally. Enjoy a meal on our patio with our beautiful views of Black Elk Peak (formerly Harney Peak). Our brewery, Miner Brewing Company, is located next door.

We visited in 2015 but join the Prairie Berry Wine club and now received their Wine in Florida in 2018- it is that good! Don't hesitate to stop and enjoy! Not only are they friendly but the names of the wines are such "South Dakota"...More

One of the nicest friendliest wineries I have ever visited. The wines they have in this winery are quite interesting, Choke Cherry and Calamity Jane Red are just two of my favorite.

We had a wonderful gal help us with the wine tasting. She gave us a history of Prairie Berry and the family tradition along with information about each type of wine we tried. The staff was knowlegable and gave us great suggestions.

We stopped to do some tasting. They do give you five free choices for tasting which is nice. The Calamity Jane wine is excellent! Although they did have a nice selection of wines, it was hard to only pick five. Nice little gift shop as...More

Not touted in the best restaurant lists, but whenever we go for a meal it is on the mark. The food pairings are unique and chef prepared. Desserts are homemade-who else does that?!!! The folks have the best recommendations and make your visit so enjoyable....More

Was greeted immediately upon walking in to try samples and the lady was very knowledgeable. Small samples compared to other places- but still very good wine!!! Felt like it was their mission to force you to buy bottles.

Great question! We allow dogs to join well-behaved owners on either of our patios, but due to health codes, we do not allow pets inside the building.
