Built by miners . It history coming alive. Giving details of progress and there way of life. Owned by Hearst and lead us to Hearst info schooling and Opera house previously having swimming pool

Have lots of mining gear and different exhibits depicting the history of mining. There are many models of mine structures from the western days plus exhibits showing how the old mining equipment used to work. The basement is set up to look just like you...More

Lots of history there. You can pan for gold there, go on a tour in three basement of a mine.. goes from old to new ways of mining. We loved it. They have a nice gift shop.m

Dropped in here on a whim and spent all morning. Fascinating! It looks like a small place but really goes on and on and is huge! We didn't even have time for the mining tunnel tour and wish we had. People are super friendly. Well...More

We took the tour. informative, funny, worth the time and money. I decided to pay a little extra and pan for gold. It was very fun and I have a little vial of gold as a memento. Go and have fun

Stopped at the Black Hills Mining Museum while in Lead. Great tour of the museum's minesite re-creation with Debbie. Informative and fun. The museum itself is a wealth of information and artifacts from the mine and the community when the mine was in operation.
