The Chapel is now closed for the season. We hope to see you May 1st when we open for 2017! Replica of the 850-year-old Borgund Church in Norway and has unique architecture and woodcarvings.

My wife and I were visiting the area, and had been told about this church, and are glad we visited. The hand crafted roof tiles are a beautiful design element of this church.

We stopped here on out way out of Rapid City towards Deadwood and Spearfish Canyon. You drive through a residential area for about 5 minutes to reach the church, which is tucked away in a wooden enclave with a handful of houses - the setting...More

This is an exact replica of a Church built in Norway over 800 years ago. It is amazing to think the original was done before modern machinery. The gift shop is in a Norwegian style of a storehouse. Inside are numerous Scandinavian gift items for...More

This was a lovely find on what started out as a dreary day. Very beautiful chapel and grounds with a museum and gift shop. Uniquely Scandinavian architecture! The wildlife was an added bonus!

We saw a brochure and decided to go. It is incredibly beautiful- the buildings, grounds, folks who worked the gift shop, information. It is free but they accept donations for upkeep. If you miss this you will kick yourself!

It is a fun kitschy place in the hills that I didn't know was even there for a lot of years. Glad I finally ran across it. Great place to take some pictures and a few little trails to go on. Lovely place

Lovely wood carved chapel plus short meditation walk. Beautiful, peaceful, outstanding details on the chapel. Free but donations requested. Well worth the side trip.

There are ramped sidewalks leading to and into the chapel, gift shop, and museum. The slopes are rather steep in some places, due to the nature of the terrain. To access the restrooms, there is one step up.
