This is a very scenic drive that takes you the long way round to Deadwood and Mt.Rushmore. Well worth the drive and stopping off at some of the view points to take in the breath taking scenery.

Did the drive down from Devil's Tower during September on the way back to Keystone. Roll the windows down enjoy the silence and the scenery. Plan ahead as there are several walking/hiking trails along the way.

After visiting the Devils Tower we were headed for Deadwood and had decided to take this route rather than the freeways. A good decision because it's a delightful drive all the way from Spearfish into Deadwood itself with many viewpoints along the way.

We did this drive after our disappointment going to Deadwood. We picked the perfect time of year to drive in Spearfish Canyon. The leaves were turning all yellow and there was a lot to photograph, waterfalls and old buildings. We were there the first week...More
