The Walnut Tavern lives up to it's nick name, Dead Animal Bar. Dozens of deer and caribou racks line the back wall. The bar is very long and populated by locals. Economical stop for happy hour.

Dark, dank and smells of old beer, but this is a Yankton tradition. Many of people have drank here, some old, some young and some famous, but the fact remain this is just an old bar with a lot of dead animals on the walls.

Great place to watch locals interact and to have good reasonably priced drinks! The Walnut is centrally located and a good spot to start you River City pub crawl on a nice evening. R
