Love this spot in the city!

What a great spot in Chattanoog. Have visited here many times and continue to return. A hidden gem. Nice setting overlooking the TN river and beautiful art abounds. Hunter Art Museum is just steps away. Looking for accomonations? Enjoy a stay at the Bluff View Inn, across the street. You will not be disappointed.

When visiting Chattanooga, you don’t want to miss this part of town, even if you only have one day. The Hunter museum is here and worth a visit but if the weather is nice, why not spend your time walking through the acres of art on the River Walk? Although the art displayed is privately owned it is publicly displayed for all to see for free. You can also pop into a wide variety of restaurants serving up delicious fare from artisan coffee to fine dining for dinner with a view of the river and the surrounding city. If you plan to spend a night or two, the Edwin Hotel is an amazing boutique hotel which boasts a huge collection of local only arts that would make any city envious.

We were in Chattanooga for friends get together and had an extra day. Hannah at the Mayor's Mansion B&B suggested the Art District and it's many great restaurants for a visit and lunch. We were not disappointed - there was beautiful things to do and see. A highlight was lunch at Tony's Pasta Shop & Trattoria! Oh my - delicious, delicious, delicious! This is definitely a revisit location!

The area is beautifully walkable. Outside art, beautiful river views and plantings. Museums, interesting buildings. Even good if the weather is not. Plan to spend and entire afternoon and evening if you can.

Came for a relatively quick visit. Nice views, interesting sculptures. I recommend you come here to eat and spend an additional 30 mins walking around the block rather than coming just to visit.

One of the highlights on our visit.

We loved the art district. Be sure to visit the hillside sculpture garden, it's amazing. And go to the ice-cream shop. I ordered iced coffee with a scoop of kahlua infused ice cream. Heaven. We could have spent a lot more time there visiting the shops and museums.

Fun sculpture art along the path up the bluff.
Jun. 2019 • Couples
The switch back trail from the river up to the Hunter Museum has several sculptures that are unique and fun to see along the way. There are so many things to see from the bluff. This walk is just down right fun.
