An interesting ride even if you have no interest in trains!

My husband has an interest in trains so this had to be a stop in our tour. I have to say I don't have an interest in any kind of transport as long as it gets me to where I want to... read more

This is a must for first time visitors to Chattanooga. I was disappointed that many of the seats have lost their covering (you sit on metal) and the windows in one of the cars is fogged. If you took that car one way you'd miss half of the view. For what they charge for admission, they should definitely update the... More

My husband has an interest in trains so this had to be a stop in our tour. I have to say I don't have an interest in any kind of transport as long as it gets me to where I want to go. However, this little railway is fun, interesting and worth a stop off to see how a single... More

The incline railroad up to Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, TN is billed as the world's steepest passenger railway. It may be an engineering marvel but it is not well cared for. The day we rode it at least a third of the seats were unusable due to being wet from rain leaking into the car from the glass windows in... More

Very cool ride up the mountain. My train-obsessed 2.5 yr old loved it. Make sure you go on a clear day so you can see the view from the top. We went on a misty, cold, and windy day and didn't get to enjoy the views from the top.

It really is an historic landmark you want to ride! My little train enthusiast loved it. I'm afraid of heights and it was a bit scary for me, but still doable. Worth the money!

The railway is set aside for experience and a quick history lesson. We were on a Ladies Wellness Retreat and decided to conquer a fear. The majority of us are afraid of heights so we decided to take the ride. It was very fun because of the fear factor and the people in the group. My seven year old was... More

This railway offers a wonderfully, interesting, historic explanation of the train's story as you make your way up or down the mountain. I went with college girls who thought it was the neatest thing. The kids on the train also really seemed to enjoy it. I feel like they could lower the price a bit. But you can get a... More

This is a different, but fun, attraction in Chattanooga. The view from the railcar is beautiful and it's a very fun experience. You can also find Point Park (a National Park) nearby. It is famous for the "Battle Above the Clouds" in 1863 during the Civil War.

The tour was very informative and the light show at the waterfall was very beautiful. They sang Happy Birthday to my baby in the cave.

This is a pretty cool experience. It's just an incline railway up the side of the mountain. It's not spectacular or mind-blowing, but you should definitely do it. The only negative thing I experienced was the lack of communication between the ticketing counter and the train operators concerning the departure times. The train departs every 30 minutes or so, but... More
