Known as “America’s Most Amazing Mile,” The Incline’s trolley-style cars climb through the natural beauty surrounding historic Lookout Mountain at a breathtaking 72.7% grade – straight up! Sit back, relax and enjoy the scenic views of the mountains and valleys from the observation windows on the train as well as the panoramic views from the observation tower at The Incline’s top station. And while you’re up top, be sure to visit the many points of Civil War interest, the Battles for Chattanooga Electric Map & Museum and Point Park, part of the Chickamauga -Chattanooga National Military Park system, just a few short blocks from the Incline top station. Then, after you descend back down to the Incline bottom station, explore historic St. Elmo, where a wonderful collection of unique shopping and dining experiences await you.

This was crazy steep. However, it offered a beautiful view. I liked the historical recording that played, but with chatty adults and crying kids, it was difficult to hear. They need to make the recording louder.

We've visited the Incline Railway many times before. It never gets old. We recommend during the warmer months that you ride it in the early morning hours. The rail cars are not air conditioned.

We had to wait in a very long line to get on this incline on a very hot day. The ride is a short one. For round trip ride you have to get off stand in line again and wait to get back on again.

Not worth the $ Waited at top about 1/2 hour. Rode down, had to get off and waited to ride up again.

It's a fun experience and was part of the multi tickets we bought. The only thing I didn't care for was standing in line so long when trying to go back down. It's not the fault of anyone just the way it works.

I have heard about the incline all my life, but this is first time I 'd ridden. I had no idea how long it is and how steep it would be. The views are amazing both from the car and at the observation deck. Like...More

When the vehicle you ride in up a mountain has windows on the roof so you can see the ground in front of you it is going to get interesting. It was a short trip, but the view is great and I think the price...More

What a waste of time & money! You sit in this train that goes down the mountains super slow and unless you like looking at trees - this is a very boring trip down - no real views. The trip up you'll sit backward.. with...More

It's a nice, relaxing ride of approximately 15 minutes each way. My kids of 6 and 4 had fun on the ride, but were too young to appreciate the engineering marvel of the incline. When figuring out how much time to allocate for this, make...More

We parked up at the top near Point Park, took the Incline down & had lunch (Purple Daisy fabulous!), then took it back up again. Parking at top was easy & the meters were free when we were there a few weeks ago. But you can... More
