A beautiful park with several well marked trails. We did the loop trail around the lake on a crisp fall day. The hike took us through some lovely woodlands and past several interesting rock formations. A fun place to spend a couple hours outdoors.

Our family has been going here for 10+ years to run the State Park Running Tour race...very attractive newly-redone bathhouse seating area with excellent stonework, gas fireplace. Cabins, close proximity to Crossville make this a great choice for family gatherings.

You can take a hike, although the trails are not great, and then enjoy a wonderful buffet that is reasonably priced and has a wide selection to choose from. The view is great too. We've been here a few times and plan to go back on our next visit to Crossville. The wait staff is excellent too. I highly recommend.

My wife really did like this place. Nice area for gentle hikes. Have plenty of Canadian geese. Only saw one lonely duck, maybe too early in the year. The park's lake still has water, although low. I see they have a lodge for meals. Stop by at lunch, it appears to be plenty of vegetables, but meat selection was low... More

Great place to visit if you like the outdoors. Food at the place for lunch is quite tasty, dinner not so much. Never had a great dinner there. Lunch yes, I can recommend. I don't like overdone dried out foods and 2 times friends insisted on treating us there over a 6-month period even though I did not pay for... More

This state Park is very Beautiful, only was able to see a few areas of the park. The lake is very nice & there were ducks swimming very close to us. Would love to go back when we have more time to see more of the park.

This park offers gorgeous scenery along with great hiking trails. There is a small one miler all the way up to an eight mile overnighter. In the summer months they have paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, & paddle boats for you to rent very inexpensively.

Great park for hiking with children or older people. Wooded and clearly marked trails. Interesting landscapes. All trails are classified as easy. I only hiked the pioneer short trail because I was short on time. Loved the suspension bridge and the huge pine trees were a Beauty to look at.

This is a nice park. We have enjoyed the picnic area. We love the hiking trails around Byrd lake......the bridges add interest not counting the fat man sqeeze.
