Built in 1929, The Factory occupies the buildings that once served as the Dortch Stove Works, Magic Chef and later the Jamison Bedding Company. A member of the National Register of Historic Places, The Factory is rich with history and a very careful renovation has preserved many of The Factory's original features and architectural details. Calvin bought the sprawling complex seven years ago and, after an environmental clean-up, began opening the facility in sections. Today, The Factory at Franklin has 83 tenants. Imagine that factory coming alive with concerts, dining, shopping, meetings, live theatre, art galleries, decorators' showcases, antiques and offices. Our unique facility can serve all this and more. Take a look at The Factory in its days as a bustling, working factory, then embark on a photographic tour of its renovation and transformation to the diverse and vibrant shopping and entertainment complex it is today.

We like the shops in the factory, but are disappointed that the 2 main restaurants are closed on Sun and Mon. Only once have we been able to eat here. It would be great for out of town people if these restaurants were open 7 days

The Factory is a cool setup, with historic buildings that were not completely destroyed by modernization. The shops inside are OK, not to my taste but would definitely appeal to someone with a taste for more rustic art, or with more general art knowledge than I have. The restaurants are good, and we definitely want to see a show sometime.... More

We always take guests to the Factory. Lunch, shopping or just a cup of coffee....everyone enjoys the unique setting. Lots of places for the men to relax while ladies shop, clean restrooms and all located right by the Saturday Franklin Farmers Market. Always a good time!

Saturday is Farmers market day and a great way to start the day! Homemade goodies from the farms, fresh veggies, handmade wares galore! Such a fun atmosphere. Food trucks to quench your thirst and hunger! The Vendors are all friendly and engaging. Once you see all that's offered at the market, duck inside for antiques, art, boutique clothing and gift... After having driven back and forth from our hotel in Franklin to the downtown area, our family stopped here to get an idea of what this large place really was. At first glance, it looks like a tourist attraction, however, this is a large interior "mall", yet a very unique one at that. This place contains many antique and home... More

I have many visitors to Franklin ask me about The Factory and, aside from the fact that it use to be an actually factory (stoves), I wouldn't say it's a place a tourist needs to go out of their way to see. As a local, I've spent some time here; my children loved Third Coast Clay, Happy Tails Humane was... More

From restaurants to a mix of unique shops you will find it at the Factory. Antiques, painting classes, concerts, plays and ice cream. Saffire restaurant is a big draw here and is always busy

How many can remember when stoves were made in the old factory? A great history for Franklin and vicinity. The Jamison Factory was a new addition to an old established location.
