Mullens Cove Loop Trail
Aug. 2020
I hiked the portion of the trail that forms a 10-mile loop known as the Mullens Cove Loop Trail. This trail includes the Snooper's Rock Trail, and for a portion of the trail it overlaps the Pot Point Loop Trail. During the trail are three breathtaking lookouts, one of them being Snooper's Rock. The trail includes variety in scenery, terrain, and foliage, and spring is the best time to hike it. I hiked it in August, which means that the many streams and rivers were completely dry. On the day I hiked, I went counterclockwise, but every hiker I saw was going clockwise. Hiking clockwise means that the last two miles include a bit of incline, but I would still hike that direction, because the visual rewards (the lookouts) are basically in the second half of the hike.

The Ritchie Trial Hike
Sep. 2019 • Family
The grankids loved hiking along the trail. Once we finished the hike we were able to go sit by the Tennessee River and play in the water. They are excited to go back in the fall.

Visit to Snooper's Rock in Prentice Cooper State Forest
Feb. 2019
This location can be reached via the Indian Rock House Trail or a short trail off the through road. It has great views of the Tennessee River Gorge.

Hike with a chainsaw
Oct. 2018 • Family
My wife and I got engaged on Snoopers Rock 9 years ago and we brought our two boys here today. The view was as outstanding as I remember but the trails were in terrible shape. We hiked some of the Pot Point Trail but had to turn around because it was not maintained well at all. Trees were down everywhere and they had been down for a while, not just a recent storm. The ATVs all over the main road was a bit annoying but the views and sights are still great.

Beautiful park with gorgeous views
Jun. 2018 • Family
Hard to believe this park is 10” outside of Chattanooga as you are surrounded by nature with gorgeous views of the Tennessee River and steep cliffs with no sense of urban development nor overload of tourists and hikers......a real treasure !

ATV trails
Jul. 2018 • Couples
There are several ATV trails that are average. It’s a good place for beginners. It was very quiet, didn’t see anyone on the trails, other than turkeys.

Great place to hike!
Jun. 2017
Take a hiking map, a good pair of shoes, a friend (or two or three) and set out to see some beauty! This place is thick so come prepared. I love the scenic views and the peacefulness of the quiet out doors

Great Trail
May 2017 • Family
There are lots of trails to explore in Prentice Cooper. Most do the 10 mile Mullens Cove loop but there are plenty of shorter ones including a very short hike to Snooper's rock for an incredible view.

Not a Quiet Nature Getaway
Apr. 2017 • Couples
If you like a quiet beautiful clean environment, this is not the place for you. The bathrooms were trashed. I went to two bathrooms in the park and both were trashed like something out of a horror movie. ATV, motor bikes, and trucks race up and down the gravel or mud roads and you could hear them while walking 50% of the trail. The beginning of the trail smelled like dog poop because of all the poop not cleaned picked up by dog owners.
