This place is amazing. Not only do you get to see model cities and trains, the staff here will give you the history about the areas? Great place to take the kids or family.

The work done by the museum builder's staff on the ET&WNC layout is really great. The attention to detail in compressing and modeling the trackage Johnson City to Cranberry, especially the work in the Doe River Gorge make this part of the museum a must...More

We brought our 2 yo grandson and he loved it. We have also brought a group of elderly folks who also loved it. There is a play room for kids who get bored quickly looking at things and want hands on.

I love to just walk through and see how things were years ago. My family has always tried to find out how transportation was when my grandparents were alive.

More model trains than museum--popular with the kids. Sometimes you encounter very friendly volunteers--sometimes not so much. It's free--donations welcome--so how can you really complain? Take the kids and enjoy. Just don't expect expert/fanatical archives, etc.

The trains in this museum are great for people of all ages. The detail work is exceptional. Also great for a rainy day activity.
