This is a wonderful educational/entertainment (edutainment) venue for all ages. This seemingly small museum situated on the University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus is packed with top quality exhibits on diverse subjects. Some exhibits are permanent, while others are replaced from time to time. Additionally, informative lectures are given at various times on a variety of subjects, all by experts in... More

A variety of historical displays throughout. The Native American section is particularly informative and includes many fascinating artifacts.

Located on UT campus, this museum is a great place for education. The atrium has a small gift shop, access to the lower level exhibitions, and the entrance to the upper level exhibitions. They present history on the Cherokee peoples and they have interactive material for children and interesting artifacts on display. They have videos and just enough text to... More

This museum has a terrific Egyptian collection which I could have spent half the day looking at, there was so much information. It also had a wonderful Native American collection. I liked that some of the exhibits were in the floor to show how archaeologists found the objects. And then there were fossils! and Early Man, and a whole section... More

Two hours was all the time we were given in this very busy university used parking lot. We could have used 4 more. This is an outstanding museum with so much to see, learn, digest, and continue to think about. We look forward to our next visit.

The museum has a great collection of artifacts, and I would recommend it to anyone visiting, or local. My review rating is only because of the security guard that confronted me and my elderly mother while I was trying to assist her into the "handicapped" elevator to visit the lower floor. "Can't you read? you can't do that without asking... More

I went to UT and never knew this place existed. Spent about 2.5 hrs walking around looking at the exhibits. Make sure to go downstairs and look at those exhibits. The anthropology exhibit and those on East Tennessee were my favorites. I appreciated that the civil war exhibit talked about how divided Tennessee was during that time. It was near... More
