An interesting day trip

A day trip to the Burren with a tour guide was one of better ideas that we had when visiting Ireland. Had a whole lot of fun exploring the landscape.

We had a hard time finding the actual entrance to the Burren National Park and ended up in a location where there were lots of walks. I think we got an overview of the Burren and enjoyed stretching our legs but I wish we had found an actual entrance and more information about the geology and flora/fauna. I would check... More

Seemingly a barren rocky area, it is full of wild plants and historic rock formations. Well worth the trip to view how this little area of the world has survived and flourished for so long. You can drive many routes to see these sites for free or purchase entrance to attractions. A must on your visit to Clare.

This was my fourth visit to the Burren but the first time the weather permitted a longer exploration than a look through the window. We found dozens of examples of plant life in a surprisingly colorful variety, and the indentations and patterns on the rocks were intriguing. Every step revealed something new. Definitely try to visit on a sunny day... More

We visited this place as part of our day trip with the Wild Rover Tour Company (they are amazing!). We did not spend a lot of time here. I think you need maybe a maximum of 30 minutes to just look around and see the place, which is beautiful and it is surrounded by the ocean. If you are into... More

We walked the short routes (because we didn't had more time) white and orange, but weren't that impressed. The landscape is definitely different, but it is not breathtaking in our opinion. Maybe it is different if you take the longer routes!

This is a strange and beautiful place. The landscape is different to the lush green and coastal scenery we had been driving through, but we had been told about this National Park, close to Galway. The rock formations are large, smooth and strange, almost a moonscape in parts with a solitary beauty. AS well there are some prehistoric remains including... More

Enjoyed our hike over this limestone pavement. Was amazed by the flowers int he crevices providing slashes of color to the barre land scape.Purple Bloody Cranesbill and White Mountain Avens with yellow centers. Also spotted a couple of pearl bordered fritillaries. Amazing landscapes

Family with children: 14,13,4. First time but definitely not the last. Unforgettable views. Combining nature with the help of human impact is amazing. Route well described. Tidy. We only passed one tark 6km. Worth it. If anyone loves nature this is the place for him. I recommend.
