I visited the shrine with my tour group. It was a wonderful experience and I am thrilled to have visited the shrine. The actual shrine of Our Lady is beautiful. However, there are amazing Stations of the Cross as well as statues around the grounds....More

I was pleasantly surprised by the expansive grounds and beautiful Basilica. We attended Mass at the sanctuary (not the Basilica) because the 9:00 a.m. time suited our travel plans better but I suggest Mass in the Basilica if possible. The apparition statues are very moving...More

Knock is pretty impressive. It is a shrine commemorating the apparition that took place there in 1879. Having read of the solitude and peaceful site it is, I was a bit disappointed. Perhaps it was the time that we visited, or the fact that there...More

The shrine at Knock is very easy to get around on foot as the grounds are reasonably level. All areas are easily found. The shrine itself is well protected from the elements being in a glass building. The basilica is large and modern all areas...More

Lovely peaceful place. Just to be able to go around at your own pace with your own thoughts was lovely. Spent some time in the Church and in the Apparition Chapel.

Visit to Knock Shrine Beautiful as always . We just keep returning annually. Peaceful and spiritual . A very special place of prayer and meditation. Shops very overpriced which is a shame.

The basilica is completely refurbished, with a beautiful new mosaic centrepiece. It's very modern, but the design and layout is spectacular. I went to confession and mass and found the whole experience spiritually fulfilling.

the basilica and apparition chapel will no doubt be of particular interest to catholic believers, but it was interesting to see what was there and what it was about. The two churches are set in very large grounds with nice gardens at the back, there...More

Our group was on a pilgrimage to Ireland and this shrine was an important stop. The statues in the Apparition Chapel depict, as close as humanly possible, the vision witnessed by fifteen people in 1879. The mosaic of the visionary event in the Basilica is...More

Hello there, I imagine that your two senior travelers will have travel passes. This makes everything so much easier. I would be inclined to take a train from Houston Station to Claremorris. A taxi from there would bring you... More

There's a hotel in Knock itself (not child friendly). Otherwise Claremorris (12 minutes). The airport is about 20km from Knock.
