Lovely venue for a drink next to an open fire with views over the bay as the tide comes in leaving stranded drinkers asking how to get back to the mainland - the answer is roll your trousers up and paddle!! Lucky for us we were staying at the hotel on the island

Lovely Scottish barman served us very politely. The public bar was shut, so we had to use the locals bar, which had about 6 blokes in it. Even sat by the fire! It seems this pub can infuriate or pleasure people jn equal numbers. Maybe it's best visiting in November like us...

We waited for the tide to ebb enough to walk over to this pub. We were met with the bar only for residents and "locals"! So I ignored that and went in as there were other fellow walkers already in there. The inside is quaint but the barman was very abrupt and lacked any social skills! We ordered a drink... More

We were staying at the Burgh Island hotel and called in here for lunch. It has a small cosy bar for residents of the hotel and we were served quickly by the only barman. We drank the local cider and ale which were both great and the crab baguette was good too. There is a small bar for visitors and... More

We went in the Inn for a drink as we were staying on the island the residents had their own bar. It was built in the 1300"s and certainly full of character.

Walked across after being on the beach, to grab a drink and a snack. After being stood behind 3 people for 10 min and no one being served, we left!

Small, cosy bar. Probably better if you are staying on the island. Great location, great staff, good beer, good baguettes (yes that's all the food they do). Good for a quick visit if you are walking across the causeway, even better if you want to people watch when staying on the island.

I really want to leave a good review. I've had some lovely nights in here sat with a book by the fire, getting involved in conversations with people I'd just met. But in recent years the place has seemed less welcoming and tonight I walked over to find the place closed. I'd been over to the island earlier in the... More

We stayed at Burgh Island and paid a visit to the Pilchard for lunch whilst there, which is a very old pub about 200 years and tiny, you have an area reserved for Burgh Island residents only, the other side for non residents for people coming over to visit may be the pub and to have a look around the...
