On our recent visit to Torquay we took the ferry trip over to Brixham. A pleasant half hour on the ferry with a commentary by a crew member. Brixham harbour is very quaint with many pubs, eateries, and little shops. We had a very tasty fresh crab sandwich at a harbourside stall. Just missed the pirate festival which was coming... More

Visited the harbor on a couple of occasions over a weekend. Seem to be a choice of bars, some seem really nice and up to date. The harbor/boat area looks really nice.

Colourful charm. Great pride from local volunteers who created little garden displays with humor and interest.

We stayed during Pirate weekend, which meant that the place was alive to music and merriment that everyone could take part in, which we did and thoroughly enjoyed. Loads of places to eat and drink, from takeaways, to cafes, pubs, restaurants. Walks along to Shoalstone Pool and Berry Head were wonderful, even seeing a basking seal. Battery gardens is quiet... Fantastic place, full of character and charm, still a working fishing village, great places to eat and drink. Ferry to Torquay £3 return, good value for money when you go two stops on a bus and it's £2 one way.

I first visited Brixham harbour many years ago when the harbour was full of trawlers and a hive of activity. Those years have gone. Now the inner harbour is a tired looking place with tired looking boats. The town is equally down at heel with sad shops around the harbour selling cheap holiday tat. I'm sure there are many visitors... More

There are plenty of seats, bars and restaurants surrounding Brixham harbour and on a sunny day it is nice to sit and relax and people watch.

Relaxing stroll around the working harbour was a pleasure. A truly picturesque English fishing harbour. I think it was one of the first proper working trawler harbours in the 19th century.
