Came to the forest while out walking. Imagine our SURPRISE to see at least 8 tents set up by the riverside. Felt uncomfortable to walk through them all with bbq, fires, dogs off lead and children playing. Why are they not stopped from camping here? They get...More

We drove to the carpark at Bellever forest near the river. We then took the short walk to the river and walked down the river bank. The scenery is stunning and very well worth the drive. There are longer circular walks but we wanted to...More

Took a circular walk from Postbridge with this spot at Bellever as our halfway point. The walk took us around 3 hours (with young kids) but we were lucky with the weather so also played around the river for a couple of hours. The spot...More

Partly to avoid a Cycle race we used the guide to take the wlak up to the Belever Tor and through the forest. The walk is easy to follow, at times challenging, but worth it to see the stone row and recently excavated stone cirlcles...More

We stumbled onto these woods by accident looking for a place to walk the dog. What a find. The woods appear commercial and pine mainly. A few outcrops of Christmas trees too. Wonderful smell. Good paths. Could do with a map or signage at car...More

Such a stunning place. I always visit this woods it is a popular stop. It has a river running through it. Also a great place to have a picnic with your family. There are toilets there too.

Tourist centre closed at Bellever so no toilets. Enough parking around there and close enough to the forest and river area. Kids enjoyed hopping over the stones to other side of the river - which is not deep and wade-able. Lots of families there for...More

A beautiful area for walking cycling etc. What's happening to the toilet facilities? I pity the poor trees.

Just a pure delight with WC services avaiable secluded in the wooded surroundings but you do have to pay for parking. Very popular with school visits.

There is no set walk as such. Your walk could be as long as you wanted. Lots of boulders to negotiate near the river so beware your little dog doesn't overdo it.
