As it was October we were able to park on the road near Woolacoombe for free. There is not a car park right at the beach. There are a lot of steps down to the beach so go slow and take your time. It is...More

Renown as an excellent shell beach I made a detour on a recent visit to Devon just to go there. The tide was approaching fast as we arrived and the day was sunny & bright. The cove is small but sheltered from wind by high...More

Lovely beach to explore the rocks and rock pools. The added advantage of a cafe on the beach is a definite yes. Worth the walk down and the climb back up.

Nice little beach, it’s only small compared to the others along there but lovely and shaded a little from the breeze. Has a little cafe on there with a few benches we didn’t try that but it appeared popular

Instead of Woolacombe beach, walk to the right and you’ll come to Barricane Beach. A small, beautiful, more secluded beach with a beach cafe (takeaway). Apart from this, no other facilities (e.g. surf hire etc)..

We saw this hidden beach as we walked the coastal path from Mortehoe to Woolacombe and I needed to visit the next day. At high tide it is a little cove to swim between some rocks, safely. The beach is tiny shingle and tiny shells.....magical....More

Lovely, clean, albeit small sandy beach reached via a lot of steps. Tasty, not too spicy Sri Lankan curry served 17-19; rolls and ciabatta sandwiches during the day. Curry portions not too large. Everyone sits on their own blankets, bring your own drinks, there is a...More

I found several small pieces of sea glass and shells. The shells were tiny but very varied and some I hadn’t seen before.
