Grand exploration of the house and gardens, a place well preserved under the National Trust umbrella. Plenty of colour at this time of year that can only develop further as we move into spring. Usual very good NT facilities.

A visit to Knightshayes Court is a real joy. Sadly, on the day we went it was quite wet so a full tour of the grounds was out of the question, but this did not prevent us from enjoying that we did see. The house is a testament to the National Trust and the initial video presentation and the rooms... More

This was our chosen destination to spend my husband's birthday. We have been before and always enjoy it. We always seem to learn something new from the very knowledgeable room guides. Lovely restaurant/tea shop and well stocked gift shop too.

An hours drive from us in Dorset, we were looking forward to visiting Knightshayes. The house was lovely and the volunteers were welcoming. The walk through the gardens were lovely too. We visited the cafe on our way out and were shocked at how unclean the tables were. Dishes and cups from other customers just left there. Food over the... More

To make the most of the visit here (as at other NT properties) we always leave time to explore the house, gardens and grounds, as well enjoy coffee and cake. The volunteers in the house are enthusiastic and I like the atmosphere. Outside, in early spring, the gardens were undergoing seasonal maintenance but there was still some colour and plenty... More

We have been to Knightshayes a number of times on route to either Devon or Cornwall. There are lovely terraced and gardens set in beautiful elevated far reaching views plus trails around the estate. There is also a separate large kitchen garden. They also have a nice courtyard cafe.

A very interesting full day out suitable for all the family. Very informative in the building for those interested in history. Great space for the kids to run off their energy. Lovely walks through grass and woodland.

Hi Graeme, I'm sorry to hear your experience was so disappointing. We try very hard to make Knightshayes as dog friendly as possible, but by 'balancing needs of our visitors', what we mean is we understand that not everyone likes dogs. The reason we don't allow dogs in the garden in the spring and summer is because, as you allude... More
