Small beach but in a scenic location

It was a nice sunny morning, so we thought we would make the most of it, and had a drive down to Aberdour, and parked up in the Silver Sands car park. Quite a small beach, but even at this time of year it was fairly busy with tourists. Plenty of picnic tables and a few seating areas near to... More

A short 15 min walk from train station (free parking there) and you are on the beach. OK, it is not as dramatic as the beaches on the west coast, but a bit more developed - with cafe, toilets, playground, etc. Considering it is only a 45 min drive from Callander to Aberdour, can't complain!

Have visited this beach many times over the years. Safe, clean and plenty on site in the summer to keep you occupied. Easy access to costal walks and the beach also has life guards present during busy periods of the year. Parking is cheap and the cafe on site is very good despite its appearance. Great place to spend the... More

This is a lovely beach. It is £1.50 to park all day and then a short walk down the hill to the beach. We sat on a bench and people watched after a walk along the coastal path. There are public toilets which is handy. There is also a nice section of flowers to the left of the beach for... More

We were en route to St Andrews and stopped to walk the dogs, what a find! Excellent car parking, good paths and an absolutely stunning beach. It was a bright ( if cool)! Sunny morning and the views across the Firth of Forth were stunning, in the far distance at the mouth of the firth we could see Bass Rock... More

It's not a spa, thank heavens, but an old-fashioned sandy beach with a snack bar and (sometimes) an ice-cream van. Grassy playing field comes down to the sea, and there's a fantastic place for children to play, people to swim, and families to have a good time. Ample parking, and fun for dogs, too. Thank God there's nothing like a... More

It's a nice and quite beach just out of the village of Aberdour. Peaceful... Beautiful silver sand, beautiful sea. I have been many times, the last was in wintertime. Easy to reach by car, there's a big car park, or by public transports. If it's sunny, the place is stunning. Good start for a walk through the path besides, nice... More

We went here a few days ago. The sands were cleans and when the tide was out we were able to go quite far out and look for little sea animals and crabs. Once the tide comes in - and it comes in relatively quickly and quite far up we played on the beach. The children had a great time.... More
