We got a very warm welcome from the lady in the shop/ticket office who gave us a bit of the background to the museum. We spoke to a very pleasant lady who seemed to be a volunteer guide in the cottage she also explained a bit about the museum. Allow time to explore this museum as there is a lot... More

A very interesting exhibition. Don't be put off by its outward appearance, it's bigger than you think.

Much local history and geology information. Many personal artifacts. Genealogy library for those seeking information about families of the island displaced during "The Clearances."

This was a great place. We went during a week holiday on Arran with my 81 and 77 year young in-laws, and my 8-month pup. The gardens were fab with loads of places to sit and enjoy the environment which was great as this was our base with taking the dog. The whole museum was fantastic and lovely to walk... More

The staff are great. The varied displays and exhibits will have something to suit everyone. Thank goodness there are folk prepared to conserve and preserve their Heritage so that future generations can gain insight and knowledge of Scotland's past. Well done the folks of Arran..

Our first "port of call" on Arran - and Wow! - A wonderful Museum dealing with many aspects from our proud but sometimes sad past. Some superb exhibits. Something for everybody - Geneology, Geology, Archaeology, Social History and much more, plus great scones (best on the island!!) at the Rosaburn Tearoom. You could easily spend all day here. Children can... More

A short stroll from Brodick Pier and you are in another time zone. The Island of Arran Heritage Museum is managed by an enthusiastic group of local volunteers, for a very modest entrance free you can enter the facility through the combined gift shop and entrance lobby. There are plenty of chairs and garden furniture where you can relax and... More

The welcome is exceptional - friendly, engaged and knowledgeable. This is a great museum and you'd never guess the extent or delight of what's on offer by a passing glimpse as you drive past. STOP and step inside and you will be amazed. Best bit for me was the original beach hut from Brodick circa 1960? Coffee in the 'Tea... More
