Travelled a long way to get here , but hey , well worth the trip !! Don t be looking for your posh clubhouse..... no golf shop...or the snobbery associated with many courses .!! What is here is a cracking coastal course , a nightmare if windy , but we got lucky ...very little wind & sunshine most of our... More

The best 9 holes I ever played. The 18 teeboxes also really make a difference! I'd go back any time If it weren't that far! Great scenery, difficilt conditions, real golf... Friendly hosts as well !

Played Durness 23rd July 2016 in windy but dry conditions. The course is in good condition and has very nice greens. For a nine hole course it has some outstanding holes 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 and especially 9. Only played nine holes but can honestly say that I enjoyed it as much as some of the more famous courses... More

Really lovely course, very up hill and down dale but stunning views, and lovely people in clubhouse. When I played I got caught in a very heavy downpour and was soaked through when I got back to the clubhouse I was given towels and a warm drink.

Thanks to Lucy and Martin McKay and John I had a brilliant day at Durness. Like most first holes, which don't benefit from great land near the clubhouse, the first at Durness is quite ordinary but beyond that the holes are attractive, challenging and varied. Any ideas that the 5555 yards are to be easy are thrown back at you... More

Played 18 holes here and basically had the course to myself apart from sheep and their lambs which were free to roam apart from the greens which were protected by fences. Some superb holes and the greens themselves were some of the best greens I have ever played on (I've played places like St Andrews,Carnoustie etc) and much praise must... More

We knew this to be the most Northerly of Britains golf courses and had to play it on our trip. It has 9 greens but 18 tees which are different enough at each hole to make it very interesting. The clubhouse was open, as most of these remote courses are, and we had access to toilet facilities. The cost for... More

Wow - the condition of the course and greens is superb, - it was hard to concentrate on my game because the views wherever you are on the course are wonderful. Each hole was a unique challenge - one hole played around a loch, and the final hole over the ocean. Apart from the temperature, I could have been on... More

Most NW course on the mainland - an absolute gem that is reminiscent of Brora crossed with Mt. Massive (CO). Minimal manicuring of nine, distinct, fun holes draped on a "mountain"/hill. Well worth the drive to reach - just be prepared for a "stimulating" 9-hole walk. Sunny and gorgeous when played but one can only imagine how challenging it would... More

We made the trip to Durness Golf Club from Dornoch where we had played and stayed. And despite being at the other end of the spectrum from Dornoch, Durness was another highlight of our road trip. Its location and setting were simply breathtaking. The layout was interesting and given the resources the club has it was in good shape too.... More
