Beach is fantastic unlike the campsite that overlooks it. Would recommend parking just down the road from the big campsite, have a walk on the beach and move on as there are far better sites along the route. Don’t forget to help the local economy by purchasing something from the local shops and also keep your speed down as you are in a built up area.

Well worth a visit if anywhere near. We were touring by camper van over Christmas and lots of things closed but the drive, views and beach all made it worthwhile. Make sure you drive the signposted costal route to see everything rather than bypass it all

This is another example of a simply beautiful beach in this area of the Highlands. We had hoped to stop and chill for a while but unfortunately it was drizzly on the morning we arrived.
We still took a stroll right along and back though and actually the weather added a new dimension to it giving it a wilder feel whilst still maintaining the lovely golden sand and crystal clear water.

Beautiful beach, lovely crystal clear sea and white sands! These beaches really do look like the pictures. Perfect location for sunsets and sunrises and beautiful location for sightings of the Aurora Borealis

Beautiful sandy beach with rock features. Stunningly clean. Very wild today with waves crashing in. Little dog loved it. Not easy access for people with mobility issues.

A beautiful beach, one of many running through Durness & the NC500. Aqua sea, and spotless sand. A stunning water fall running down into the beach. My kids favourite. On par with places like Achmelvich, Clachtoll, and Sandwood bay. Fabulous beach.

As the photographs show this beach is gorgeous. You could be literally anywhere in world when the sun is shining and sky is clear. We were here fairly early in the morning and apart from a dog walker and some kids on the zip line we had the entire beach to ourselves. Timed it perfectly with the tides and the sand goes on forever. Don't miss this absolute gem of a beach.

We were totally surprised to find such wonderful and beautiful beaches in Durness. Good or bad weather the pictures are perfect. Great views, nice sandy beaches and what an amazing color the water has.

Really nice walk on the beach or near it. The water isn't too cold and the dog loved it! There is a bit where you have to walk round a massive rock by going up on the path - then coming back down the other side.
We went on a clear day and it was quite enjoyable.

I wonder: can someone advise me. I traveled in Scotland last year: Edinburgh, the Highlands, and Isle of Skye. Now, I am looking at north of Inverness, and the Outer Hebrides. I'd like to kayak, walk, and bike. Any suggestions for wild beauty?

Travelling north on the A9 there are some beautiful little harbours all the way up to Wick, notably Helmsdale, Latheron Wheel and Lybster, Sorry I cannot help with the Outer Hebrides asI have never been. Have fun
