This imposing old fort, which was incorporated into the Benedictine Abbey in 1876, is bisected by the Caledonian Canal, where to the north the canal enters the famous Loch Ness and into the village itself through a series of locks.

The showers and laundry here are excellent, clean and big enough to change and shower in the shower room without all your stuff getting wet!! Which trust me is a plus!!

Sat at the foot of Loch Ness and the beginning of the Lochs in to the Caledonian Canal, there is also the river. The road can be blocked temporarily as the bridge is lifted to allow boats through. There is a large free car park....More

I was so happy when I thougt I could get a nice hot shower. Well what a dissapointement. The showers were terrible! Dirty and moldy. Lady at the desk wasn't friendly at all.

Its an idyllic place to visit, lots to watch and enjoy, especially the locks staircase as boats make passage between the canal and loch ness. Lots of good pubs and restaurants to enjoy relax in as you watch the world go by.
