A couple of miles from the main road and well worth a visit to see both the weavers and the beach. We were invited in to see the weavers in action. Such is the skill that you dont begrudge paying the price for the quality items in the shop. We purchased a blanket for around £85 and it is beautiful.... More

If your near the lovely village of Bunessan then I recommend popping into this lovely farm and shop. The staff are wonerfuly friendly, the lady working came out of the office as we came up and gave us a wee tour. It was very interesting watching the machine weave the fabric. Had a nice little shop with items made on... More

Stopped for a visit combined with picnic trip to Ardalanish Bay. Lovely wee working farm and weaving shed. Very interesting and friendly staff and no hard sell. Items on sale are expensive but very high quality and when you see how they are made with the effort that goes into making each batch, and no two batches are exactly the... More

What fun to see how older, true craftsmen-ways of making wool products, is not only being preserved but adding 21st century environmental values as well. Not only are they making world-class woven wool and wool products, but they are even generating their own electricity with wind turbines. We were given a lovely tour where we watched a master weaver running... More

The Ardalnish Farm raises sheep, particularly native Hebridean black sheep. They use the wool in traditional weaving methods on old machines dating back to the early 20th century to create blankets, shawls, fireside throws, scarves, sweaters, and hats. It is quite a thrill to see the weaver, 80 year old Bob, working on t a machine he has used since... More

It's quite the drive on single track road to get here, but it is well worth the effort. The woolens are exquisite and the woman there the day we went was friendly and informative. Beautiful goods!

On the road back from the ferry to Iona and heading toward the ferry back to Oban, we decided to take a side trip and visit this shop. It took us ten minutes off the main road and was a bumpy drive, but it was well worth the effort. I know nothing about weaving on looms, and it was a... More

The weaving shed is like a working museum with many of the looms and machines nearly a century old. Visitors are welcome to look around the shed although the machines are very loud and ear defenders are supplied. Next to the production area is a small shop with a selection of woollen items for sale, expensive but beautiful and of... More

We walked to the weavers with our dogs. Two looms were working and you could chat to the weavers and ask questions. There is also the farm shop which sells frozen, organic local grown meat. There is also a shop selling the products from the weavers.
