We heard about the boat trips to see puffins only a day before and were lucky to find a time slot for the next day although the boat ist only suitable for 10 people.
The puffins were super cute and the captain of the boat was very friendly and overall a fun guy. We also saw a sea eagle and a sea lion in the distance.

Please be aware that the puffins are pretty small and kinda far away so a phone camera or a GoPro might not be the best choice. Below you can see some fotos I made with my phone (Google Pixel 6a).

Although the Puffins didn't play ball by being on the island, Andy made sure we got to see them in the water, feeding and flying short distances. He was knowledgeable about the birds and shared some local history too. We also saw grey seals. A great couple of hours.

Well organized, experienced, highly respectful of the wildlife and the waters.
Our all-in-one captain, guide, first mate was lively, and competent, determined to find the promised puffins!
He not only found them, other birds and seals, but explained the cycle of their lives: nesting and mating, 9 months at sea.
Everyone of the 10 travelers enjoyed the trip.
A great way to see the islands from the water.

We went out with Jock from Staffin Community, setting out from Staffin Bay. It was an amazing trip as we were lucky to see a huge group of birds and cestation feeding from a bait ball of fish. This included diving gannets, dolphins and minky whales. It was quite incredible but also probably pretty rare. The highlight of our week.

Our guide and boat man (andy?) was great. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. He took us to see amazing wildlife- dolphins, porpoise, seals and even a whale. An enjoyable and relaxing 3 hours!

Andi's knowledge and concern for wildlife was a bonus on a wonderful day out. Sea eagles, puffins, airborne gannets and great views!

We’ve just returned from a fab trip with Andi on board the SkyeXplorer II. We had a great time, the boat is plenty big enough for the number of guests (8 max I think) and there’s room for everyone to see and move about.

Andi is a great guide - friendly and knowledgeable and positions the boat about to give guests on both sides good views. We saw countless puffins, as wells as a number of other seabirds and some seals. Wouldn’t hesitate to go out again some time!

Bring a waterproof jacket - even if the forecast says no rain. Waterproof trousers if you have them, too.

We had a great trip out to see the Puffins. The weather was against us a bit but the skipper made it a good trip. He was knowledgeable and informative about the wildlife and other bits of history too. Well worth the money but take waterproofs!

Loved our boat trip. We went first week in September, didn’t manage to see the whales but we more than made up for that with the pod of dolphins we got in about. Spent a good 20 mins in the company of the dolphins, within touching distance from the boat.
We saw sea eagles, seals and porpoise from the boat also.
Amazing tour, we stopped at every relevant point for long enough for everyone to get pictures and enjoy the sights.
Free tea/coffee and a chocolate biscuit. Andy the owner is so knowledgeable and so helpful in spotting stuff that you might have missed yourself. Amazing day out, even without the whales was such a lovely cruise and well worth the money.
