Whilst exploring the beautiful Isle of Bute we stopped and made the short walk to visit St Blane’s Chapel. Despite some what some reviews say, this is not far from the main road (maybe 2 miles on a minor road), and is only a 10...More

There is a walk through some fields to get to the ruins. There is a magical atmosphere here, and the place is very peaceful.

We like both the walk past the lighthouse before cutting up to St. Blanes, or the walk across to the stones before an amble down the road to the St. Blanes parking before picking up the path through the church and up over the hill...More

Place infused with history. Nice to walk from Kilchattan round if it doesn’t start tipping it with rain. Alternative is to drive and then just walk up the hill. Appropriate amount of Interpretation boards with good level of information .

Loved this place, beautiful scenery and a peaceful atmosphere. Well worth a visit. The only problem was that I had to walk up alone as my disabled husband couldn't walk up to it and had to wait in the car.

There's a steep walk (not far) up to the remains but you have views back across to the Isle of Arran and it is worth the effort. Such a peaceful and blessed place. It has such a lovely atmosphere. There are signs to identify main...More

This place is a delight. The ruins are set amid lovely countryside with distant views towards Arran and it is easy to imagine it in its prime as a living invitation to a life of contemplation and prayer. There are useful storyboards identifying the various...More
