Very helpful information centre and shop. Lots of leaflets and brochures. Ideal location - next to the ferry terminal and bus stops. And last but not least - this is one of the most beautiful landmarks on the island.

There is a well- stocked shop and knowledgable assostants. The exhibition is invitingly laid out and there is some fascinating historic video footage. All this is contained in a unique architectural structure formerly known as the Winter Gardens.

I have never seen a car hire place on Bute but I'm sure you can hire from Glasgow or as the other answers say there are good local bus & taxi companies on the Island. Hope this helps
