Quirky building. There's nothing like oddball Victorian Architecture. This is actually quite stunning. Well worth 10 minutes of anybodies time. Almost on a par with the Philharmonic Public House toilets in Liverpool

Central location as you alight the ferry....Can't miss them as mosaic walls and Victorian signs on them. 40p entry, visitor book. The gents are the side to look at, the ladies are just normal. Ladies can Bob in to look at gents if you ask attendant and check they're empty of men folk! Worth looking at, quite a sight....

The gentlemen’s toilets in Rothesay are a veritable palace of the public convenience. Described by Lucinda Lambton, architectural historian and well-known cludgie connoisseur as “jewels in the sanitarian’s crown”, they are one of the finest examples of late Victorian lavatories left in the UK. The interior is magnificent with walls entirely clad in decorative ceramic tiles, ornately patterned in rows.

Beautiful Victorian toilets however disappointed with the ladies one as they are simple white toilets and sinks unlike the periodic gents toilets which I could see when leaving the ladies. Very clean surroundings and central location.

Wonderful Victorian Architecture and on my early morning visit I was given permission to view the gents side........they've got the best! I was given thestory on how the toilets were saved from demolition by Allison, who was attendant that day.......gave mea brief history lesson... More

It seems a bit odd that public toilets are a top tourist attraction so we couldn't resist having a look. I was disappointed as the ladies are plain white toilets and hand basins. The tiles were nice though and more like the Victorian style I expected. My partner met me after visiting the gents and showed me some pictures. From... More
