Overview
More
Conceived in 2014 by Aidan Canavan, a biologist by training, Bute Brew Co. is situated in the centre of Rothesay on the Isle of Bute. Our Brewery is open for visitors so you can come in and see how we make the beers, sample the beers in our bar and beer garden. You can also buy bottles to take home or as a fantastic gift for someone if your feeling generous! Our beer is available on draft or bottle in most of the pubs and restaurants around the island. We are also finding the demand is increasing and our beer is popping up in lots of pubs and off-licences around the country.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself at the Bute Brewery on a rather wet Sunday afternoon. I loved the rustic and autumnal ambience of the outdoor seating area. There were even blankets provided. The staff were lovely and thanks to Kate who was very hospitable. I felt...More

This is a cracking little brewery. It's not much bigger than your average garage, but it is a functioning brewery producing some brilliant beers. The guide/barman/chef/waiter was great. He knew all about the brewing process, knew the stories behind the brew names and made some...More

Being a craft brewery it's not a big place. However the tour guide was knowledgeable, the staff were very friendly the beer was good. It also serves food but I didn't try, liquid lunch.

A great find on the beautiful island of Bute. Friendly and welcoming staff invited us in to their micro brewery. The bar staff gave a well informed "tour". We sat next to the bar where we were given the full tour from our chairs. (Great...More

We didn't know that Bute Brew served food until we visited last weekend. I wish we had known about it sooner. It is by far the best food on the island. Delicious platters, using fresh local produce, will keep meat eaters and vegetarians very happy....More

Why is this place not shouted about from the rooftops everywhere? Nice, but rustic, space, working micro brewery with a short but good menu. We had the charcuterie platter (think they may have missed the spiced beef and lamb off it but it was good...More

My other half and I visited as he likes his brewery tours and visits. We initially bumped into Aiden on Monday and he was only too happy to chat to us about the brewery despite not being open. He told us about other places to...More
