Welcome to Loch Katrine - one of Scotland's special places. Just as special as the magnificent scenery is the famous steamship "Sir Walter Scott" which itself has been a landmark in The Trossachs for over a hundred years. Your visit is not complete without a cruise on this wonderful ship, or on "Lady of the Lake", the perfect way to experience the beauty of Loch Katrine. Perhaps you'll just want to relax with a coffee or a meal in the Brenachoile Cafe Bar, shop for a souvenir and take a stroll by the shore, or bring the family for a cycle trip?

Loch Katrine is a wonderful uplifting place. A place of tranquility and exceptionally beautiful. Not easy to get to but certainly worth it for a taste of real Scotland and a hint of Rob Roy. We sailed on the Sir Walter Scot around the entire...More

Loch Katrine is easy to access a the bottom where there are places to eat, drink and take a loch cruise. Although a tourist trap it was still worth the visit for the view of the Loch. The food is good at the Café and...More

I have been on several loch cruises and this was by far the worst. Passengers were packed on like sardines with no thought for their comfort or enjoyment of the trip. I would estimate that about 50% of the passengers had no seat. It was...More

We took the boat cruise on Loch Katrine. Learned a bit about the area. Beautiful ride up and down the Loch. Not very exciting, just a nice ride.

Regardless of the weather this is a must see and do if you are in the Trossachs. A trip on Loch Katrine on the old steamer Sir Walter Scott is certainly an experience but I would recommend the two hour trip on the smaller Lady...More

Enjoyed a energetic walk with the family along side Loch Katrine. We parked in the Ben Lomond car park and walked to the Loch. This was our error as did not realise there was parking closer by. But was very relieved of this when we...More

A birthday treat for my other half - an hour's cruise on the Loch aboard the Sir Walter Scott. It's sad but true that a lot of us born and bred in Scotland don't fully appreciate the beauty of our native land. This is a...More

Loch Katrine is not far from Callander where I spent many childhood holidays visiting grandparents. The loch itself is beautiful, as you'd expect, surrounded by forest and views up the surrounding hills at the east end that provide such an enchanting setting. It's smaller and...More

Thanks for taking the time to review us, much appreciated. Your review is really consise and really sums up the experience in a nutshell - thank you. My top tip is to go for the 16:00hrs sail as it is usually the least crowded. Hopefully...More

Right from the point that I made my initial enquiry by e mail around suitability of a loch cruise for my elderly Grandpa who is wheelchair bound through to the actual cruise itself the staff could not have been more helpful or professional. Fern from...More

Hi There, as it is inland water the loch is usually quite smooth, we do get the occasional ripple but it's not bad. I do get sixk on the sea myself but Loch Katrine should be ok for you!
