Most of the pieces in this house are not the originals, however it does an excellent job of giving you a feel for what houses back then look like. You can do self guided, in which case there is a lot of documentation about the Victorian era. I liked that the information was presented in a less formal way (printed... More

The history of the house was very interesting. They had mostly period pieces there that did not originally belong to the house. The guide was knowledgeable but I thought she put too many of her opinions into the tour. Worth seeing.

We had a great time touring this house. It's unfortunate that much of the original decor is gone but it's still very interesting to see the architecture. We also loved the vintage clothing which was even more of a draw for us than the house. I would highly recommend it

I had not toured the Woodruff-Fontaine House for some time and I was pleasantly surprised to see many improvements. The grounds were well cared for and the furnishing and decor have improved significantly since my last visit 20 years ago. The house is an excellent example of Victorian architecture and it is worth a visit to see one of the... More

Visited on Sunday afternoon, only ones on guided tour with guide, Rosemary. Very informative and nice. Beautiful home with period furnishings. Finally got my 15 year old Son interested in history and old homes. The reported ghost activity helped intrigue him to take tour. Awesome experience.

This is a beautiful house with an interesting story. We had a well-informed tour guide with a lot of good info. The furnishings are beautiful. They have a large vintage clothing collection with changing exhibits. You might want to check ahead to see what is on display.

This mansion is full with stories, the tour guides were friendly and knowledgable. We spend around 1.5hr with the tour, the interior mansion was decorated with Christmas tree, roses and lights. All the displayed furniture and room details were explained in details by the tour guide. Fascinated by the artwork of Victorian era, especially the porcelain lamp outside the boys... More

This house is one of two close together on Adams Avenue. This house was built in 1870, was vacant for quite a period during the mid 1900's than restored. And it is really magnificent. Of all the houses that we have toured on our trip to Memphis and Mobile, this one was our favorite. It just speaks to you of... More
