I toured this house on a Wednesday with a friend. We had the quintessential old Southern woman give us our first part of the tour. Her name is Ruth and she is 95!!!! What an amazing woman and how very cool to listen to the stories in her very old South dialect. The house is beautiful and has an interesting... More

For an afternoon one will never forget, go to the Woodruff-Fontaine house. I hope you are greeted by Jennifer. She is knowledgable and professional and it is obvious that she loves her job and enjoys the guests who visit. From the minute you enter the mansion you are captivated by the charm and beauty of the house and the history... More

This house is one of only a few remaining mansions from Memphis' past. It is not in the best area, but there was plenty of street parking. The entrance is around the back and there is a sign out front directing you to that entrance. It is a gorgeous home with wonderful tales of previous owners and even a couple... More

Tuesdays is not a good day to be in Memphis if you are after things that ate open. Winter makes it even worse. Decided to walk in the Victoria Village neighbourhood anyway. We should not have bothered, probably better when the historic houses are open, though poor information on websites regarding exact hours, days etc.

Neat historic homes on this street, some are open for tours. Go if you like history and old homes. Pay the parking meters.

interesting tour of this fantastic house. The stories and legends about the place are quite intriguing. I love old house tours and was very pleased.

Very informative and interesting tour. Just loved learning about the history of the occupants and this mansion. This mansion is very detailed, with very unique features for the time. The size of the doors to hide-away shutters, just lots of cool stuff to see. We thought our tour guide was amazing, I think they are local college students volunteering. The... More

What a wonderful time! Food, fun, wine, ghosts! Employees dressed in period clothing , taking on the likness of the Woodruff-Fontaine family members, telling stories of "their" time in the house.

This house is a nice piece of history though the exterior is well finished there appears to be more restoration work to be done on the interior.

We were so excited to tour this house. A gorgeous home! HOWEVER, we were very rudely treated when trying to obtain tickets to view the inside of the house. First of all, it was very unclear where to go. It had a huge sign out front with hours of operation. It is indeed a day that they are open and... More
