Takes chances and previews shows not often presented. I saw a David Mamet show called ' Race' which took a lot of courage to present in Memphis. It was excellent.

This is a fabulous venue to see theater. It is small, but the shows there pack a powerful punch. The Theater houses local small theater companies and allows them to put on 'new' non-commercial productions that cannot be seen anywhere else.

The weekend I was in Memphis, not only did they have a play running, but there was also an improv troupe performing for the late-night crowd. TheatreWorks certainly seems like a happening place, so if you have a free evening, check what's playing. Prices also seemed reasonable.
