The Holy Spirit Resides here!

Foot stomping, hand clapping, bible based Christian church. While nondomination walks a fine line with COGIC and that old time gospel!

We attended on Dec. 20, the last Sunday before Christmas. While the service was just as expected in tone, I was surprised that there was no reference to the Christmas story, no Christmas hymns, no manger or any reference to the birth of Christ. The congregation was almost half visitors; the member attendees were primarily women and children. I am... More

Having been a faithful fan of Al Green's since I was a child and now over thirty years later to go visit his church was a real treat. We felt that attending one of Pastor Green's services was better than any of his concerts or public appearances because we really got to truely see his authentic heart for God, not... More

I took a group of European tourists to AL GREEN'S church and they said it was a wonderful experience even though the service lasted over 2 hours. Reverend Green was charismatic and personable. The choir was great.

Very disappointing – very touristy (understandably) - Al Green wasn’t in top form, his message was mixed, possibly divisive in these troubled times, and the singing and overall atmosphere was nothing compared to the Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem NY.

I'm not a religious person, but this place is worth a visit. The singing and the passion are beautiful to see. I loved every minute of the service. It's hard not to join in with the congregation. Glad I went.

The church is in a road off Elvis Presley blvd but you need a car or transport to get there. Tourists outnumbered the local congregation but it was not crowded. The service is long but you can leave when you like. Bishop A.L. Green always arrives late. The service starts at 11.30 on a Sunday morning. He arrived at 12... More

You'll definitely need a car but if you're able, join in a Sunday service. The church is quite small, the music wonderful. The "regulars" could not have been more welcoming. Unfortunately we had a full day planned and weren't able to stay as long as we would have liked, but if ever back in Memphis, we''d certainly go again.

This church service was fantastic. We really enjoyed the beautiful songs and the atmosphere. Al still has something wonderful to give to all that enters those church doors.

I am a Baptist member in Brazil. So, it was a must go place for me. What a delight to be in a church so full of GOD´s presence. Reverend Al Green's message and the gospel choir were like a sheer balm for my ears and heart. Everyone gave us a warm welcome and made us feel like we were... More
