At different times of the year, they have themed walks through the cemetery that provide an incredible look at history. Halloween is a favorite; volunteers dress up like the folks who call Elmwood home and tell all who come by their story.

I don't think that it''s easily accessible by public transportation, but if you're able some graves are fascinating. If available, get the audio tour.

This is a very old cemetery. Lots of ground to cover. You can take a drive thru tour or just get out and walk thru the pathways. Its a beautiful place.Lots of civil war leaders and early settlers here.

This was a very interesting stop. There are a lot of history makers buried here. The cemetery is huge, so you may what to drive most of it.

Beautifully designed and the grounds are very well kept. First time I visit a cemetery in the south and was interesting to see the difference in burial from what I am used to.

Talk to the directors . They gave us background on how cemetaries have been viewed and used through the ages. At one time a visit to a cemetary was considered a family outing. And bodies were often re-interred. Take the self guided tour-Elmwood provides a...More
