Completed in 1290, this is a fine example of a concentric circle, with outer walls serving as a line of defense around a series of inner walls and the main living quarters.

A castle that has been thoughtfully restored and explains its place in history well. Enjoyed as a visit with my wife but could see families there enjoying themselves. Well worth the trip.

A great castle for looking around. Lots of history surrounds this place and the view from the top is amazing. The steps can be steep and dark in some places but worth the climb. There is a cafe in the visitors centre serving fab cakes!

Nice little castle with really good views and the town of Harlech also looks really nice too. The only downside is that the walls at the top of the castle are really low down, so not great if you aren’t good with heights!

Glad I wasn’t Owain Glyn Dwr trying to take this castle in 1405! It was clearly built to withstand any sort of assault. Lots of stairs to climb to higher parts if you enjoy that sort of thing but plenty to enjoy on the ground...More

This is a well preserved castle and has interesting boards so you can learn about the history. Plenty of steps to climb and great views from the top.

We enjoyed walking around this magnificent castle. It is well-presented, and it’s scale is imposing. The views are beautiful, as is the castle’s stonework.

While officially dogs are welcome, my recollection is that this doesn't apply to all parts (for safety reasons). Your dog needs to be kept on a leash at all times.

Harlech train station is very close to the castle but you do have to walk up a very steep hill! Shouldn't take longer than 10-15 minutes and you can get a delicious ice cream at the top :)
