Incredible views and surf, bit too stony for a decent dog walk

The walk from the free car park down to the beach is short but keep your eyes peeled for interesting things... we saw some amazing lackey caterpillar nests and birds of prey. The beach itself is HUGE and there were surfers enjoying the waves which was great to watch. Although dogs are allowed on the beach, we found it difficult... More

It was a fabulous November day and the beach was massive. We had a really enjoyable walk with our dog who loved it. The last time we came here it was very windy so we were surprised how much calmer it was.

I've got so many happy memories here from my childhood! There is nothing better than going on a breezy day and body boarding on the huge waves. We used to spend hours here and wanted to go straight back the next day. Picnics, waves and sun, what more could you ask.

So many great memories of evening BBQs here with friends. 3 miles of golden sands, excellent for swimming. Great walks. And wow what a sky - great for star gazers. My now husband proposed on this beach, just magical memories, a must visit.

Hells Mouth is beautiful on sunny days but terrifying in a gale ! Best views are obtained by doing the coastal walk and approaching from the East end.Sea currents can be dangerous here so beware if you swimming

Messy waves but still surfable and good height for beginner/intermediate surfers on the day we went. No facilities nearby which makes the beach reasonably quiet even on hot summer days. Rent boards in Abersoch on your way through.
