Parys Mountain

Parys Mountain is fascinating and well worth a visit. Good marked paths to explore. Copper Kingdom Museum also worth visiting. We enjoyed both very much.

This helps you to understand the local scenery and history of the area and indeed much of Wales. Definitely worth a visit.

Heard about this place from family and so swung by. We were very impressed by the way the information was imparted both with audiovisual and actual artifacts. We learnt about the history from the Bronze Age, the Romans through to industrial revolution...and it's links to Swansea. Good to know the HMS Victory was sheathed in copper from Anglesey. The staff... More

I believe the Amlwch Heritage Centre has only started its excellent free tours around the Northern part of the island this year; we found out about them from a poster in a shop window in Amlwch, so took advantage & took our friend from Llangoed along with us. The minibus tour, conducted as a 'Hop on Hop off' service, took... More

We had a brilliant time at the copper Kingdom last week. It is well worth a visit if you're on Anglesey. We were greeted by a very pleasant chap when we arrived who was great with the kids and very knowledgeable. The museum is small but very interesting and educational. The kids had a great time. The cafe is nice... More

A lovely stop on a coastal walk for ice cream with an added bit of Amlwch history. The children enjoyed the stop, as did we next to Amlwch harbour. Staff were very friendly, ice cream delicious in a lovely coastal spot, toilets clean with stunning smelling soap (quote the two girls!).

Small but interesting museum on copper mining and smelting in Anglesey and Swansea, with visual and audio technology.

quite put off by the price of the museum and being offere a small map/ pamphlet for 50p when the same pamphlets are free in visitor centres. Visited the open copper mine and was very impressive by the sheer size of the opencast mine, nothing much remaining of the old buildings.

We have a holiday home not too far from Amlwch and as my uncle and his family lived here, he helped build and then worked at Wylfa, we spent many a happy hour as children in the area. Having seen the Copper Kingdom on an earlier visit this year, unfortunately too late in the day to enjoy it at the... More
