Totally enjoyable for my Elderly Dad and myself. The host was engaging from the beggining and gave us an up to date review of this important area of astronomy. I would be very happy to return with the wife and kids. Excellent.

Brilliant tour many thanks. Very interesting and lots of information clearly presented by the guide. Loved the planetarium. Our son (age 8) said it was epic! Great photos to further explain the work at space guard. Can't believe how much they do without any funding. Been meaning to visit for ages and so glad able to go today. Staff very... More

We only live an hour away and I can't believe we had not heard about this place until a friend recommended it a week ago. Really interesting tour with a great introduction to asteroids, comets and meteorites. It is an observatory so we wore warm clothes but the tour is indoors and very comfortable. Will recommend to friends and plan... More

We have just visited here, and have learnt so much. We were a group of 6 - aged 13 to 80 and we were all enthralled. Jay conducted the tour and explained how planets are formed, how asteroids and comets come about and the risk to our Earth in a very accessible and entertaining way. We saw the telescopes, computers,... More

The place is run by a husband and wife team, both of whom have the charisma of a drawing pin. They both have a poor attitude towards visitors and stink of cigarettes. The place lacks atmosphere (no pun intended) and warmth. The most disturbing thing for me is that the man doing the actual talk (the husband) couldn't take his... More

I am hugely disappointed and rather shocked by this review. I find rudeness a bit inappropriate in such a forum, and, by the way, neither Anne nor I smoke cigarettes at all. As this lady was the only person on the tour it is not surprising that I looked at her; not to do so would be very rude. The... More

I half expected a huge government installation given the vital importance of the work carried out by this and other monitoring stations, but in reality its more like a large back-garden project. This is not to belittle it in any way as I consider it to be a hugely interesting attraction and I really wish more people knew about it... More

It's a bit of an adventure just getting there, but just follow the directions and you'll be fine.As soon as you get out of your car it's obvious that the place isn't awash with money. It has the feel of a huge DIY project, and that's exactly what it is - but SOME project - WOW! Totally funded by public donation... More

The trip up the hill and through the gate to a fairly unimposing building may put some people off - but the relatively little effort involved is SO worthwhile. We learnt SO much - and it was all put across in a manner that reflected our limited knowledge of comets, asteroids and their place in our solar system. DO take... More

Jay Tate has a wonderful delivery of a complex subject. He explains in lay mans terms the difference between the various objects being tracked and what has happened in the past. There is also an insight into future developments in near object detection and the possible way in overcoming impact probabilities. This was my fourth visit and each time the... More
